It’s kinda surprising that the NHRA hasn’t resorted to adding weight to the Vance & Hein bikes like they did several years ago. It didn’t work but it exposed NHRA thinking back then and have they learned from that?

Two legends? Jay, yes... Paul, no... Jay has forgotten more things about bikes then Paul knows.... Ive met Jay a few times at Newcombs ranch (former So Cal bike spot in the hills). Genuine, nice guy and a RIDER. That said it was obvious there was nothing to interview Paul about and the reason for the chicken shit move with Jay....

I remember this in 2001 I finally owned 426 yzf loved it stage 2 hotcams and porting and polishing from Jay Jones Racing was fast

Laconia is more scenic.. I wouldn't mind riding there, but about 2100 miles away... Can't take that much time away from work. Daytona maybe 1 day... Lone Star Rally I don't miss been going for years. Yes been to Sturgis!

I've been going there for years back to 1970's, and the Road Racing at Loudon, NH. Later we hit New England Dragway in Epping, NH for the Drag Races. We packed my Van with the two bikes and headed up from NYC. I was invited to ride "Jim Karata Enterprises" top fuel bike but didn't what to close my Bike Shop to race. His bike was one of the 1st to break high 6.90's in a quarter with a reverse Kaw 4 cylinder head with a blower. His shop is in Conshohocken, PA. and made a trip to see him once over a weekend years ago.

I like how he’s gotta adjust the family jewels so it’s comfy. You’d think they’d put a pocket in the seat that they would fit in. Lol.

For those who dont know whats foong on. The quad on the left is a two stroke, it makes power on every upward stroke and has oil mixed into the gas because there is no oil in the engine. The quad on the right is a four stroke and only makes power every other stroke and doesnt need oil added to its fuel, it has oil in the bottom of the engine. The two stroke engine makes power more frequently but takes a lot of experience to make it run well.

There is a point to what you are saying, and you may be right. But I dont really think so. I have gotten tired of seeing Gage win to as a fan, but as a race car driver myself I can see more than just from the fans prospective. Gage is no doubt one of the best on the tree to begin with, but Andrew H. is just an amazing tuner. I know times were different but when John Force and Austin Coil won 10 championships in a row it wasnt because they were cheating. Force was hands down the best driver and Coil was the best tuner. We dont see much of it anymore because everyone is just a genius now, but all through drag racing history a team finds something and for a season or 2 they just dominate. Then everyone else gets it and its back even. I am confident that Matt will win more championships because he is the G.O.A.T. of Prostock bike, but right now Hines just has it figured out. But all these tuners and everyone in any NHRA class are really just true geunisses and they will always figure out how to go faster.

The ground of manufacturing information might have been a clue to the authenticity of the machine. That and the non period correct engine. Both red flags 🚩 for buyers beware. Those dudes were long gone with the cash and sort of disappeared and would not return calls .
